Alaska WWAMI Admissions Calendar
February / March
Registration opens for June / July MCAT exam dates. MCAT test dates and registration deadlines.
NOTE: Undergraduate student who hope to start medical school immediately after completing their undergraduate degree programs are encouraged to take the MCAT at least 13 months prior to starting medical school. Applicants to the E2009 Alaska WWAMI class must submit scores from the 2006, 2007, or 2008 Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), and must have taken the MCAT prior to Sept. 30, 2008.
June
AMCAS begins accepting applications for the following year's fall matriculation (e.g. AMCAS would begin to accept applications in June 2007 for Fall 2008 matriculation).
July
UWSoM Admissions Office begins receiving and processing applications from AMCAS.
Mid-July
Deadline to apply for summer MCAT examination; this is the last MCAT date to be considered in the admissions process for the fall of the following year.
August
Summer MCAT given.
August
Admissions Committee begins review of completed applications.
November
Deadline for applications to arrive at AMCAS.
November
Deadline for required official transcripts to reach AMCAS.
December 1st
Deadline for submission of Alaska WWAMI Eligibility Form to UAA WWAMI Biomedical Program Office (for address, FAX number, and e-mail address, see our Contact page ).
January
Deadline for supplemental materials to be received in the UWSoM Admission's Office.
January - March
Interviews in Anchorage and Seattle.
April
Final notifications sent.
May 15
Deadline to accept or decline medical school acceptance offers.
August
Matriculation for accepted Alaska WWAMI applicants.
